A project trialling raised litter bins has significantly reduced fly-tipping in a hotspot location.

Three wall-mounted bins were installed in October 2025 around St Michael Street car park, an alleyway near Caldmore Primary Academy and community gardens, and Caldmore Green. Fly-tippers caught on CCTV pay the price

Two fly-tippers have been fined after being caught on council-owned CCTV cameras. The first incident took place on Woodwards Road, Pleck, where an individual was caught disposing of household waste. Following investigation, a fixed penalty notice (FPN) was issued on 29 January 2026. The offender paid the £400 fine on 11 February 2026.
